Hello everyone,
We're just a few weeks away from completion of Jeremiah's CD! Things are going really well. We had a long day today comping vocal tracks on several songs and sweetening guitar and keyboard tracks. Next week, we'll be heading to another studio in Central Arkansas to record additionaly drum, bass, and electric guitar tracks.
I'm really pleased with the sound we are getting, and hope people are getting excited to hear the final product. Keep the faith, I promise this CD is worth the wait.
Lendell

Today is a huge milestone for The Sun Still Rises. We finished putting together the guitar and vocal tracks for all twelve songs. We are all set to go to Lifeword Studios on Tuesday and do a 12+ hour recording session to knock out drums, bass, and electric guitar.
We are still working out details for our cello player, but that should come soon. So the plan now is to record on Tuesday, and spend the rest of the week and part of the following finishing everything before going back to Lifeword to mix.
Today was so satisfying, as we ended on Most Wonderful, the very song we did first. We redid the guitar and vocal, and it turned out much better than before. So it is cool to see the progression and growth as a player through this project. I guess that has to happen when you spend 1/3 of a year on something like this.
Lendell sure deserves a huge thank you for all of his work, as he is so much of the reason this all is coming together. And I am sure we wouldn't be recording at Lifeword without him. So thank you Lendell! Roger GInnett also deserves much thanks, as he is loaning us the money to go into the studio next week. And all of you for your prayers and support. We couldn't have gotten here without you.
It is cool to be at this stage of the game, because for awhile it felt it would never be done. Yet here we are! The biggest thanks goes to God, as he certainly brought all of this together and has confirmed our path.
We still have a lot of final expenses to work out, but by the end of next week the project will be near completion.

Today I added another new song, "Perfection". This song was originally entitled, "Grant Me Wisdom". I feel that Perfection is a better description for the song, based on what it talks about. Hope you enjoy it, and look for an update from the studio on Tuesday!

Isn't it wonderful how it is hard to sleep at the most inopportune times? I have spent the last 4 days or so recuperating from the busy week, which has meant lots and lots of sleep. I think I may have slept a bit too much, as I am wide awake now. I wouldn't even say it is from excitement, as I am not thinking much about the task at hand.
I did experience a bit of a disappointment this evening when I arrived. The little key card they gave me at the front desk had an ad for Domino's Pizza. Now, I am not the biggest fan of Domino's in general, but I was with a friend this last week, and he ordered their thin crust pizza for our dinner, and I loved it! Turns out I was about 15 minutes too late, as they had just closed.
Perhaps my hunger is why I cannot sleep... Or maybe I truly am excited. It is incredible that after one day in the studio, we will be leaving with completed drum, electric guitar, and bass tracks! One day!
As a side note, after posting this, I realized that this is the 100th entry on the website!
Alas, it is time to lay back down and try to get some rest. Wakeup time is just 5 hours away...

Hey there everyone. Unfortunately I don't have much of an update to post quite yet about the studio, but I will say it went so much better than I could have ever imagined. Look forward to some info on that soon, I can't wait to share it!
It is so funny how sometimes when I write a song, I really cannot remember what I meant when I write it! Take for instance these words from Waves:
"In my heart rages this wild and terrible storm
On a ship called righteousness, an object of the waves, it's been very worn"
Well, I must admit that I forgot exactly how the ship tied in! It was just cool. Listening to the studio cut tonight, I realized that my heart is riding on the SHIP! So my heart is on the ship. Glad I figured that out before playing it much and being asked to explain it all.

A week ago today was our first day at LifeWord Studios. The experience was incredible, and I hope to add some pictures soon. The good news: We got the drums, electric guitar, and bass finalized for FOUR songs! The bad news? That leaves another 7...
We had expected to do all 11, but it became very evident very quickly that was just not possible. But let me stop here a moment to interject that what we did that day was so many times more incredible than we could ever have envisioned, and I cannot wait to share it!
That said, we majorly need your prayers. It just so happens that LifeWord has an opening next Tuesday, June 12th. We need to raise quite a substantial sum of money to make that happen. If not, we may need to delay the project several months, so this is ust a very critical time. That being said, we are very confident it will work out. But please pray, we need it now more than ever.
For your listening pleasure, I have updated Perfection with the new band version, so be sure to check it out. Thank you for joining us on this journey, with your prayer and support, and most of all, God's guidance and provision, we will make it!
