Another weekend passes, and life moves on.

So what is up with the weird title you may ask? Well you didn't ask so there is no need to answer. Actually, it was the first thing that came to mind so I use it. Great eh? Anyways, Friday night went pretty well despite the fact I woke up with a sore throat. Okay, okay, it was my fault because I decided to stay up a bit and play with my iBook. Oh well. It was quite a bit of fun, and More Than Me was awesome! They have a few new songs, so that was a lot of fun. If there is one really big thing I am being reminded of and learning more about it is how much better God is than anything else. Music is awesome and nature is and all, but it does not even begin to compare to God. He truly is the only fufilling experience and the ultimate display of affection.

With that said, we went ahead and set up another date to play. (At Ascending Glory of course). More Than Me and I will both be playing on the night of April 16th at 7pm, so I will go ahead and put this on the dates page. As usual, thanks a bunch for stopping by, and keep on pressing on towards the goal!

Some stuff things.

I just got the recording of the coffee house at Ascending Glory back from Adam Bulla. (The one on March 12th). It turned out pretty good, except for how loud the talking gets at points. Anyways, I have just completed uploading it to the site in mp3 format. If you happen to want to take a listen, click the link below:

This one! Click me! Click me!

So once you get there, simply right click and save-as on each file. Not sure how long I will be able to keep them up, but here they are. As of now I have no more upcoming dates to mention, but it is still on for the 16th. As far as the move goes, we hope to have our house on the market by early next month, so that is keeping us busy. I am trying to find the time to visit and see the house we plan to buy, so hopefully my schedule will allow it. Speaking of traveling, I am visiting JBU this weekend and taking my buddy Ben Wahlman with me. We will be departing right after church, stay the night, and visit and leave on Monday. Which reminds me, one more day of school and then spring break! So, thats the deal. Hope you enjoy the recording. Oh yeah, I should have the words to some of my new songs up soon. Keep pressing on towards the goal!

It's in baby!

Wow. Wanted to post something on April fourth so it would be 04-04-04. Alas, I missed it. Too bad. This past weekend my parents signed a contract on a house in Chicago. Has 3 bedrooms and a *gasp* 2 and a half car garage! God has sure provided here, and I am very thankful. It is awesome to see how He is allowing impossibilities to go through to completion. So that is the biggest news I suppose. I visited JBU over the weekend, and once again God is providing, and it looks as if I will be able to go. On this matter, Andy Andrus got our housing set up, and we are in a sweet on the first floor of their new dorm, North Hall. (Yeah run on sentences!) So, Andy will be my roomate and we will have 6 "sweet mates" or something along those lines. North Hall is currently under construction as the picture below shows, but it should be done (and had better be done!) right as the semester starts. I am very excited about JBU now and to continue my ministries there. Oh yeah, just as a reminder, I am playing at Ascending Glory on April 16th. Check out the dates section for more info. Keep pressing on into the Lord!

A little more info...

Well, before I get into some other stuff, the move thing is going well, but stressful of course. Got all of my stuff ready, but we now have some stuff to do on the house. We are having an open house this weekend, so this is the big push. My mom is doing an amazing job preparing for it. Anyways, that is the update as far as the move is concerned. Tomorrow night is the coffee shop at Ascending Glory Cafe (check out the dates area for more info) and I will be playing from 7-8. If you show up, make sure to stick around to see More Than Me play. They are awesome. Well, that is all for now. Remember the awesome hope we have in Christ!

Yet another post.

Well, first off, sorry for the dealy in posting. The coffee shop went pretty well. Anyways, if you have ever been to Ascending Glory please be praying for their survival. Right now they are relying on volunteer work to stay open, and it would be awesome to see them do well. Business is not bad per-say, but it is not enough. It is wild to think of the many things I am learning to trust God in. It's funny, a concept so simple yet is so hard to take to execution. We have our house on the market now and that is another area of trust, as is this whole move to Chicago. God is turning so many impossibilities into realities, and I am simply thankful for the awesome opportunity to learn to trust in Him more. Having to throw away most of the stuff in my room has been easier than I thought it would be too. God is so much better than any materialistic things that we may have, and that is yet another concept I need to be working on. I am so thankful for everything He is using to teach me more trust in Him, although in no way does that make it easy. I thank everyone who is praying for this, as my family needs it. But ya, I am doing fine. So, onto other things... I will be playing again at Ascending Glory Coffee House on June 4th probably around 7ish. I will post more details when I know an exact time. I actually set this up right after my last one, but have not had time to post an update. So, thanks for checking the site out as usual, and remember that He is so much better than anything of this world. May the Lord be your first thought day by day!

Updates.

Two posts in two days! Wow! Anyways, just wanted to say that I have put up the lyrics to some of my new songs, and all that good stuff. The two most recent songs are Most Wonderful and Long. Most wonderful is a song I wrote as a reminder about how God is so much better than anything else, and for this reason we give Him the praise and glory and honor and all that good stuff. Long is a more personal song that explains where I feel I am right now. I am so busy with life and the move and school and all of the things going on, and am not taking the time I need to spend with God. It is far too easy to get caught up in every day things, something I am very guilty of. The first few lines speak on this, and how I so often seek attention and what not. The verse explains how because of these things I long for Him. The second verse is a reminder that I HAVE in fact tasted God's presence and that regardless of these faults, His plan will be carried out to wholeness. So the first time through the chorus, it is stating that I long for Him because I miss Him. The second time it is because of the fortastes of His presence, which can be in various forms: prayer, Bible reading, music worship, etc. But this is where I feel I am. Needing to get back into the Word and doing everything else possible but that. Needing to get back into the word and prayer. It is my hope that the words to any of these songs do not portray an image that looks perfect or without fault of problem. On the contrary, many of them have come as a direct result of these issues and things I am dealing with and going through. I want to be the "blessed man" that Psalm 1 talks about who meditates on the Lord's law day and night. But it is so hard to get there, so if there is anything I would ask prayer for it is getting back to that place. To get back to the garden, and out of this desert. Hopefully these words can be an encouragement and inspiration to those who read them. Keep pressing on into the Lord and reaching for the goal!
