Hi All,
Sorry for the lack of communication over the last couple of weeks. Hannah and I have been very busy, frantically moving everything out of our apartment to a storage unit. We are in Chicago visiting my family for a couple of weeks before she flys out from here to study in Washington state until the end of August.
We decided to do this, as I needed to be here for a while to work, and secondly, we have yet to figure out where we want to live. We have some great leads on renting a house in Bentonville (very close to Fayetteville, and literally down the street from Wal-Mart HQ!) So we are very excited about the possibilities of that.
We have really grown out of the apartment, trying to run a business and all, so this would be a welcome relief.
Okay, so the project. The last studio session went very well, and we are pretty much done with all of the major work. Lendell and I have about 15 hours or so to spend working on finalizing things, and then we can begin to mix. Unfortunately at this point, we are now at a standstill before we raise what we need to finish. But, it is a good position to be in, as at any time once we get the funds, we can be done within about two weeks.
So the goal at this point is to have the album mixed by sometime in August, which will allow us to start promoting it while we raise the final amount to finish. I am looking at jobs in the Bentonville area, and hope to find something to help us during this time.
This whole thing has been such a big push, that it is a relief to be where we are now. We just cannot wait to show you what we have been working on, as in Lendell's words, "This is exceeding all of our wildest expectations", and he has been part of many projects. It truly is for all of us, so much past what I am able to show at this point, so be looking forward.
Even though we are not finished, I am satisfied that this will be a job well done. We could release what we have right now, however, it would not come close to doing all of the rest of our work justice, and would not be finishing to the best of our abilities. Thank you all for your understanding in this, it will be worth the wait!
One more thing, I will be adding a video or two from in the studio shortly, so be looking forward to that in the next few days. It should also give you a little sneak peak of what it will sound like. Cannot wait to share that with you!
Finally, thank you all for your continued prayer and support, especially Taeko Peters, Dave Williams, Lendell Black, Alex & Tyler, my family, and my wife Hannah. You all have been such an encouragement during this time, and I could not be doing this without you. Thank you ALL (not just who I mentioned) for your prayer and support, please keep it up, as it appears to be working, and of course it always does.
God bless.

I JUST arrived home from taking Hannah to the airport. To recount the events of the last few days, Hannah and I left for Chicago on Thursday after a day of recording to make the 14 hour journey. My sister, Charis, graduated High School on Sunday, so it was great to be there. Then we left on Monday evening at 9:30 to repeat the 14 hour trip. We made it home yesterday at 9:40 AM, slept for two hours, and drove 3 and a half hours to Conway Arkansas for the studio session.
Unfortunately, we did not end until shortly after 2 AM, and had to have Hannah at the airport within 5 hours, which was the same amount of time the drive would take. So at this point, I had only slept maybe an hour and a half in the last two days! So on the highway, the lights in the car all of a sudden became very dim, and went out! So we took the closest exit ramp, where the car subsequently decided to die.
Fortunately Lendell was only a few miles ahead and he came to take us to Siloam. We were all but convinced that Hannah would not make her flight, but we arrived home at 5:30 and turned around and headed out in our other car, the Sidekick.
It's just crazy all the unexpected things that happen, but we are just thankful it all has worked out. Well, almost. Still have to wake up in a few hours and try to figure out how to get the car back. We are just thankful it didn't conk out at any other time.
Back to project info, we are very much nearing completion. I would say we have a minimum of 30 hours of work yet to do at Lendell's studio, and will go back down to Conway to mix the album the last week of the month. Stay tuned for more updates, and thanks for the prayer, we sure need it!

Taking a little break right now from the session. So far we have completed Situations and Restore, and it's all going very well. Looks like we will not be getting done for a few more hours, but we should be able to finish tonight!
We also have worked out the details for mixing the CD, and will be doing that here at Lifeword as well. Going to jump back in, we are about to work on Anxious Awaiting. Just thought I would let ya'll know it is going well!

The last couple of days have sure been incredibly crazy and stressful, but have been full of blessings and proof that God always provides! I mentioned in my previous post that we have reached a very critical stage of the project. On Thursday, Hannah and I packed up our things, armed with everything we thought we could even just possibly sell, and headed to Chicago.
Our thinking was that we could post everything on Craigs List and get some cash to help pay for Tuesday's session. 10 ads and 3 days later (Sunday) we had not even received ONE email or call! Talk about feeling desperate!
I spent some time in the evening on the phone, but unfortunately everyone I talked with were not in a position to be able to help, but they all did offer to pray. I think I mentioned before that if we are unable to make this date, the project may be delayed a very substantial amount of time for so many reasons. Well, I had finally conceded defeat, that perhaps that is what would happen. To come SO close to finishing and to be unable to do so would be such a difficult thing! Hannah and I prayed, and really felt confirmed that the answer would come tonight, and the decision would be made.
What followed absolutely floored us. We were approached by some close friends that understood the importance of the session, and wanted to help. So we WILL, I repeat, WE WILL be recording at Lifeword studios on Tuesday! Thank you guys so much for your support, you know who you are.
This whole record has been such an incredible learning experience for both Hannah and I, and it excites us to think of what an awesome story this will all make when we are finished with the project. The little details, like the fact we must jump start our car a majority of the time, that sometimes we truly have to do the ramen diet, etc, are all part of the adventure for us, and we are loving it!
Thank you for being a part of this adventure. I realize that this is my 100th post, and what better subject matter to talk about than the news we are rejoicing over!? Of course we still have a lot of work left to do, and need to raise a decent amount more, but at least we know the project will be completed in a timely manner, and without any sacrafices in quality. Thanks for supporting us on the ride so far, the journey ahead will be exciting indeed!

A week ago today was our first day at LifeWord Studios. The experience was incredible, and I hope to add some pictures soon. The good news: We got the drums, electric guitar, and bass finalized for FOUR songs! The bad news? That leaves another 7...
We had expected to do all 11, but it became very evident very quickly that was just not possible. But let me stop here a moment to interject that what we did that day was so many times more incredible than we could ever have envisioned, and I cannot wait to share it!
That said, we majorly need your prayers. It just so happens that LifeWord has an opening next Tuesday, June 12th. We need to raise quite a substantial sum of money to make that happen. If not, we may need to delay the project several months, so this is ust a very critical time. That being said, we are very confident it will work out. But please pray, we need it now more than ever.
For your listening pleasure, I have updated Perfection with the new band version, so be sure to check it out. Thank you for joining us on this journey, with your prayer and support, and most of all, God's guidance and provision, we will make it!

Hey there everyone. Unfortunately I don't have much of an update to post quite yet about the studio, but I will say it went so much better than I could have ever imagined. Look forward to some info on that soon, I can't wait to share it!
It is so funny how sometimes when I write a song, I really cannot remember what I meant when I write it! Take for instance these words from Waves:
"In my heart rages this wild and terrible storm
On a ship called righteousness, an object of the waves, it's been very worn"
Well, I must admit that I forgot exactly how the ship tied in! It was just cool. Listening to the studio cut tonight, I realized that my heart is riding on the SHIP! So my heart is on the ship. Glad I figured that out before playing it much and being asked to explain it all.
